Learning a foreign language would not be complete without having visited the country of which language one is studying. All this was made possible for two second year Sixth Form students at St.Martin’s College; Nicky Azzopardi and Kurstin Gatt, accompanied by Ms Claudette Bonnici who spent a 3 day educational visit in Berlin. The aim of the visit was to familiarise the students with the German culture, whilst being exposed to the language. Setting foot in this multicultural city with three million inhabitants opened the gateway for students to experience life in such an enormity, in comparison to their home country, Malta. The German history, the historical buildings, the fast moving city centre endorsed by shopping malls and the snowy scenery in Berlin, all contributed to a positive impression of the city.
