The Shakespeare trip for Sixth Formers was organised around 'Macbeth' that was playing at The Globe Theatre in London. The students all fell in love with Macbeth and were all appropriately disgusted with the witches and the Porter. Whilst there, they also visited the British Museum that is currently holding an exhibition on the Kingdom of life - sculptures from West Africa; the Tate Britain showing sculptures of Henry Moore. They also went to a current art exhibition of Chris Ofili, a contemporary artist. The Shakespeare Walk around London also proved to be a great success as they passed and pointed out the houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and stopped at St Paul's Cathedral. The play 'War Horse' again was a great experience and gave them all a feeling of the tragic circumstances of the First World War as well as enjoying the mechanics of the amazing horses. Covent Garden was on the list too where the group enjoyed the street theatre whilst having a hot cuppa.
The students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed themselves and hope that this educational influence will go a long way.
