Two sixth form students, Melissa Manthos and Kurstin Gatt, participated in the third edition of ‘Juvenes Translatores’, a translation contest organised by the Directorate-General for Translation at the European Commission in Brussels. St Martin’s College Sixth Form was one of a small group of Maltese schools which took part. The contest is run to promote foreign language usage and is open to 17 year old students throughout the EU. On 24th November the competition took place simultaneously in all member countries, students translating between any two EU languages. Melissa chose to translate from English into Italian, while Kurstin translated from English into Maltese.
